Public Input

The general public can make suggestions and comment on the ocean management planning process in many ways including:

1. Attending any of the 18 Public-Input Listening Sessions being held throughout the state from September 18 through October, 2008

2. Visiting the MOP/EEA online Public-Input Website to see video of the Public-Input Listening Sessions, download text transcripts of the events, and submit comments online (site to be launched by mid October), or by

3. Mailing your comments to:

Massachusetts Ocean Plan
Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs

Stakeholder Input

The state will gather stakeholder input through its Workgroups and other means.  Another effective way for organized stakeholder groups (including: recreational/commercial fishers, the marine trades, renewable energy organizations, etc.) to have meaningful input into the ocean-management planning process is by joining the Massachusetts Ocean Partnership.  We bring ocean-interest groups together to collaboratively solve problems, provide input and develop common sense ocean-management planning solutions.

Stakeholder input will be considered by a variety of EEA’s bodies:

1. The EEA’s Ocean Advisory Commission
2. EEA Science Advisory Council
3. EEA Workgroups
